Doctor: Aldi Nababan Student From Medan Depression, Repeatedly Tried Suicide

DENPASAR- Aldi Sahilatua Nababan (23), a student from Medan, North Sumatra, who died tragically in his boarding house, is said to be a deporesi.

Psikitri Doctor from the Central General Hospital (RSUP) Prof. dr. IGN Ngoerah or Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar, Bali, Dr. Lely Setyawati Kurniawan said the sign of Aldi Nababan's depression was found based on a conversation on the victim's cellphone given by the Bali Police Laboratory.

"The results of this conversation that Aldi had with several people," said Dr Lely at the Denpasar Police Headquarters, Wednesday, December 13.

From the conversation on March 21, 2023, Aldi Nababan continued, Dr. Lely told his girlfriend about the anxiety she was experiencing.

"I'm not bored with you, I want to be with you. It's not all about you, you know. There's something wrong with me, I don't know what this is, but I'm always anxious. I want everything to be fine but never as desired," wrote Aldi in a conversation on his cellphone.

According to Dr. Lely, the conversation led to Aldi Nababan's desire to do better.

"But it didn't work and continued to be chased by guilt. It was one of the characteristics of depression," he added.

On the same date, Aldi also said that he gave up on living his life with his girlfriend and asked to leave him.

"I don't know, you just judge. I have also given up with my life. Just leave me, I also don't have the right to get love from anyone," wrote Aldi.

Dr Lely considered the sentence as Aldi's feeling, who at that time felt that he was no longer valuable.

"So one expression of despair from the victim, and that is also a sign of depression," he explained.

A conversation was also found on his cellphone, where Aldi Nababan admitted that he was no longer strong enough to live.

"On the one hand, I can't stand this life. But I have a strong sense of responsibility. I have to be able to help my family get up, I have to be able to help my brothers and sisters live a better life so that they don't like me," wrote Aldi.

Aldi wrote again one day that he was going to commit suicide. "In my opinion, there is a time when I will do that, for sure," he wrote.

Furthermore, Aldi reported to his girlfriend that he would commit suicide.

"I don't know beb, not because of work. But I'm not strong all this time, I'm not strong. So far, suicide is only in my opinion. But surely one day I will do that, for sure. I'm just outside pretending to be strong, pretending to be strong, pretending to enjoy life the most. But actually I want to die the most. I don't know, I'm strange. Even my family sometimes can't say to kill themselves," wrote Aldi.

Aldi often repeated suicide sentences, so the doctor concluded that Aldi Nababan had long expressed the desire to commit suicide.

"That said it was repeated so that we could see that Aldi wanted to kill herself a long time ago. A few months before he was found dead," he said.

"So he doesn't want other people to know. We know that one of the symptoms of depression is a sad face. But Aldi tries to cover up his sadness by pretending to be happy. He can joke even though he admits to his girlfriend that he is actually very sad," he continued.

There was also a conversation on June 7, 2023, when Aldi confessed to his girlfriend that he had tried to commit suicide but failed.

"Because of my opinion, the point is that my life has been destroyed. I have no hope of living anymore. So please don't have to be with me anymore. You want to be miserable and keep waiting for news from me, you always want to wait. You want to be hurt all the time, I don't want to interact with everyone else with everyone," wrote Aldi.

"I just took mosquito medicine, it's okay, it's really annoying, so the mouth doesn't feel good. Then I look weak," he wrote.

"So the suicide attempt has actually been a lot. He has done it many times, this method is not dead, the method is not dead. So he has designed various other stories," said Dr Lely.

As previously reported, the death of a student from Medan, North Sumatra, Aldi Sahilatua Nababan (23) in his boarding house was concluded to be due to hanging himself.

"So from everything we did the examination, we concluded that the victim died as a result of hanging up," said the autopsy doctor from Bhayangkara Hospital Level II, Medan, Dr. Ismurrizal, Wednesday, December 13.

Aldi Nababan's body when autopsied was already in the process of decaying. There are traces of circular ropes around the neck. In addition, it is certain that there are no signs of violence on the victim's body.

"Of course we found there was something like what was mentioned by the enlargement of theteEL bag. Then we opened it, we cut it, we saw the number was complete and we did not find any signs of violence. This means that there were no signs of violence," he explained.

Meanwhile, regarding the news that the victim's genitals were damaged, the doctor said there was no violence on the body.

"Indeed, the body we received had undergone a decay process and had been formalized. In the genital area, we found it had grown, then in the bag of theled fruit, the skin had been peeling off," he said.

"And we checked if there were any injuries to the contents of the stern. So we checked, the number was complete and we did not find any signs of violence and others. Members of the lower motion who were said to have been shifted, I did not find them, then violence against theled fruit, I did not find them," he said.
