DPR Believes There Are Still Many Hajj Components That Can Be Pressed

JAKARTA - The cost of Hajj (BPIH) has indeed been successfully suppressed. But the DPR continues to encourage the government to re-process the hajj component for cost efficiency.

The average per congregation fee is IDR 56,046,172 or 60 percent which includes flight costs, accommodation in Mecca, some Medina accommodation, living costs and visa costs.

Member of the BPIH 2024 DPR RI Wisnu Wijaya emphasized that the cost of Hajj still requires a lot of efficiency. Because, he sees that there are still many cost components that can be reduced, from plane tickets to gatherings.

"We still need a lot of efficiency. What efficiency? In aircraft ticketing, gathering, community, waiting period. So there are still many components that are efficient. So there is no need to talk about inflation," said Wisnu when contacted, Tuesday, December 12.

He said, one of the losses borne by the congregation was plane tickets. Empty plane tickets are sometimes borne by the congregation.

"This organizer bears four trips. When the plane is empty twice, it is borne by the congregation. And this is actually not in accordance with the principles of sharia principles. Not when the plane is empty and also charged to the congregation," he said.

He encouraged the government to transparently open the airline tender. He hopes the government has the intention to provide benefits to the pilgrims.

"I ask that all tenders be opened as widely as possible. And open an airline that can carry our pilgrims," he said.

"The intention is how we provide benefits to the congregation," he continued.

The same thing was also conveyed by one of the organizers of the Hajj and Umrah, A. Sadat Kadar Usman said that the cost of Hajj for pilgrims should have been made lighter. Although he realized that there was indeed an increase from the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

"If we look at the government's hajj side, it should be made easier and easier for the people of Indonesia. Even though there is an increase from the Saudi government, it must be studied again. So it does not necessarily increase the cost of Hajj," said Usman on a separate occasion.

As for the preparation of the Hajj, he also appreciated the government. Because the current Hajj service is quite good. However, he saw that the obstacles did come from vendors in Saudi Arabia.

"From a government point of view, it is good to prepare it. The problem is from Saudi itself. I see that from year to year it is better," he said.

"Pay more attention in terms of buses, tents," he continued.
