Add 3 More, A Total Of 6 Candidates Excluded By The West Sumatra KPU From The List Of Fixed Candidates

The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) again crossed out three legislative candidates from the permanent candidate list (DCT). With this, a total of six candidates have been crossed out by the West Sumatra KPU from DCT.

Head of the Technical Division of the West Sumatra KPU, Ory Sativa Syakban, said that DCT changes occurred in three district KPUs, namely Solok, Agam and South Solok.

"Yes, there are 3 more legislative candidates that have been dropped from DCT. So until now 6 legislative candidates have been dropped from DCT," Ory said on Monday, December 11.

The deletion of the 3 candidates from DCT was carried out as a follow-up to the Indonesian KPU official letter Number 1427 of 2023 regarding the Decision on the Dismissal of Candidates and Deletion of DCT.

"In the letter, the KPU ordered the provincial and district/city KPUs to make changes to DCT by crossed out legislative candidates who did not submit decrees for dismissal from work that were required to resign for legislative candidates," he said.

Then, in accordance with the provisions of Article 14 of KPU Regulation Number 10 of 2023, legislative candidates who have certain jobs are required to submit decrees for dismissal from work that are required for legislative candidates to resign, no later than October 3, 2023, to be precise on the last day of the DCT funeral stage.

Ory further explained that the consequences for not submitting the Dismissal Decree were up to the time limit that had been given.

"Provincial and district/city KPUs are asked to make changes to DCT Decree by removing the legislative candidate," he said.

The candidate who was dropped from South Solok DCT on behalf of Suhaimi from the South Solok 2 electoral district. Abdullah was dropped from DCT Dapil 5 Solok Regency, Indra Z Dt Nagari from Dapil 3 Agam Regency.

"For the changes to the DCT Decree in the three districts, it is possible to file a dispute over the process at Bawaslu by political parties whose candidates have been dropped from DCT," he concluded.
