Komika Aulia Rakhman apologized after making people restless who thought they had harassed Prophet Muhammad at a stand-up comedy event in Lampung on Saturday, December 9.

Aulia Rakhman's apology was uploaded to the social media account @auliahakhman90 quoted by VOI.ID, Monday, December 11.

"I want to clarify and apologize for the video that was circulating recently, regarding the material (stand up comedy)," said Aulia.

Aulia said that in fact she did not intend to insult the Prophet Muhammad and the satire was only addressed to people with Muhammad's name, but had behavior that did not reflect the meaning of the name.

"In the material, I do not mean to insinuate the name of the Prophet Muhammad. I only mean to insinuate people who currently have many Muhammad's names, but some of them their behavior does not reflect the meaning of the name," he continued.

Although he did not intend to insult the name of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, Aulia Rakhman still clarified and apologized to the people who felt aggrieved by him.

"Once again I regret what I said at the event and once again I have no intention of insulting the Prophet Muhammad or insulting religion. I apologize to all those who love the Prophet Muhammad," he explained.

Previously, the stand-up comedy material discussed by Aulia drew protests. As a result of his joke, he was reported by the Lingkar Nusantara (Lisan) community organization (Lisan) to the Lampung Regional Police on charges of blasphemy on Saturday last week.

Then at this time, the police from the Lampung Regional Police stated that they had designated comic Aulia Rakhman as the perpetrator of blasphemy and were determined to have violated Article 156 letter a of the Criminal Code regarding blasphemy, subsidiary to Article 156 of the Criminal Code regarding hate speech against a group.
