JAKARTA - The trial of the pretrial lawsuit of former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights, Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej (Eddy Hiariej) will be held today, Monday 11 November at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel). The lawsuit Eddy filed because he did not accept himself being named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the case of alleged bribery and gratification. Eddy Hiariej filed a lawsuit with his personal assistant, Yogi Arie Rukmana and lawyer, Yosi Andika Mulyadi. The lawsuit was registered with registration number 134/Pid.Pra/2023/PN JKT.SEL.... The first trial agenda," reads a statement on the case tracing information system (SIPP) of the South Jakarta District Court, quoted Monday 11 December. Eddy's pretrial hearing is scheduled to be held at 10.00 WIB in the courtroom 01 of the South Jakarta District Court. The sole judge appointed to handle Eddy's lawsuit and his friends, namely Estiono. Previously, the KPK suspected that Eddy Hiariej had accepted bribes to deal with the company dispute to stop handling the case at Bareskrim Polri. The deepening of the allegations will continue to be carried out by the KPK.

The KPK claimed to have obtained sufficient preliminary evidence to ensnare Eddy Hiariej, namely bribes worth Rp. 8 billion. The KPK confirmed that the alleged receipt would be investigated further. In this case, the KPK named four people as suspects, namely Eddy Hiariej, his personal assistant Yogi Arie Rukmana (YAR), lawyer Yosi Andika Mulyadi (YAM), and former President Director of PT Citra Lampia Mandiri (CLM), Helmut Hermawan (HH) as suspects. For now, the KPK has just arrested Helmut.
