OANA News Agency Calls For The Importance Of Maintaining The Safety Of Journalists Working In Gaza

JAKARTA - The Asia-Pacific News Agency (OANA) organization has stressed the importance of the safety of journalists working in the Gaza conflict. The statement was issued due to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians in Gaza having reached a level that threatens the safety of journalists.

Although the work of journalists is full of challenges and difficulties, it must still be done on the basis of service for the benefit of the community.

"As journalists, we have been subjected to heavy violence because we are only carrying out our journalistic duties with full dedication despite many difficulties. There is no reason to be a victim of actions that also violate human rights and international law," said one journalist from the Asia-Pacific News Agency (Oana-Irna) quoted by VOI, Sunday, December 10.

"As OANA, we affirm our commitment to fight for the safety and security of all journalists and consider the fertility of their lives very necessary. OANA is very concerned about the safety of journalists working in the area," he added.

OANA stressed the importance of the safety of journalists operating in the field for all respected news alliances and urged all institutions and organizations to take the highest measures to ensure the safety of journalists.
