Prabowo: Traders Are The Key To The Success Of The Nation And The State

Presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto said that traders are one of the keys to the success of a nation and state because they remember the nation's fighters in the economic field during the struggle for independence.

"It can be said that traders are one of the keys to our success as a nation and a country. Our independence was captured by physical fighters, but our independence was successful and filled by economic fighters," Prabowo said in his remarks after receiving a declaration of support for Indonesian Volunteers Forward (RAPIM) at Djakarta Theater, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 8.

According to Prabowo, traders play a role in the history of the civilization of the Indonesian nation. Traders, he said, were more than just running the economy, they could also build the nation's glory.

"The traders are the ones who build a nation. Traders create jobs. Traders not only run the economy, but he builds a wealth. From that wealth, taxes can be paid. From that tax, the wheels of the country and the nation can be carried out," he said.

Prabowo also analogized traders as commanders of combat forces because traders had to be faced with crucial decisions.

"If the decision is wrong, the company goes bankrupt. If the company goes bankrupt, it cannot pay the salaries of several hundred employees," he added.

RAPIM declared support to win the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in one round of the 2024 presidential election.

RAPIM General Chair Anton Timbang said the volunteer group was a movement to fight for the aspirations and hopes of Indonesian traders.

RAPIM, said Anton, is fully confident that the hopes of traders can only be realized by Prabowo-Gibran.

"Our traders are spread across 16,235 people's markets and 2,133 shopping centers. At this point, RAPIM will focus on fighting. We have formulated targets, strategies, and targets," said Anton.
