Mahfud MD Talks Privately With Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim

JAKARTA - Candidate for vice president (cawapres) number three, Mahfud MD met with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim today. The two of them had a private chat.

"We chatted together, four eyes briefly separated from the group," said Mahfud after the meeting as quoted from his written statement, Friday, December 8.

Mahfud did not specify the meeting. If you are together, it means you can't hear people. But the point is, friendship," he said.

Mahfud also had lunch together in Medan, Jalan Duta Kuala with Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The two also had time to pray Friday together.

Mahfud MD praised Anwar as an anti-corruption fighter. This figure is considered to continue to fight for Malaysia, which is clean of corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN).

He even said that Anwar learned a lot from figures in Indonesia, including the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrachman Wahid or Gus Dur. Thus, Mahfud is interested in studying with Anwar.

"I am interested in the history of Pak Anwar Ibrahim's struggle, which makes politics a struggle," he said.

"So I learned a lot and will continue to communicate for the struggle, for Indonesian civilization," concluded Mahfud.
