JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) stated that it had supervised the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu regarding alleged violations committed by the vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka on motorized vehicle free days (HBKB) or car free day (CFD).

"We have supervised and DKI friends are following up on allegations (of violations), it is still a suspicion. We'll see first from DKI friends," said Bawaslu Chairman Rahmat Bagja as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 7.

According to Bagja, the follow-up to the alleged violation will be carried out by the DKI Bawaslu considering that the incident took place in their jurisdiction.

However, Bagja invited pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates to attend CFD with certain provisions.

"Yes, political activities, politics, if it is educational politics, go ahead, but then can the presidential and vice-presidential candidates exercise in CFD? Yes, go ahead," he said.

Bagja reminded that since 2019 the presidential and vice presidential candidates have been advised not to campaign in CFD.

"Kegiatan capres dan cawapres kemarin sudah kami imbau tidak boleh menggunakan CFD sebagai arena kampanye, itu jelas. Itu dimulai sejak kapan? Itu setelah kapan? Itu kesepakatan kita pada tahun 2019 yang lalu dan diterapkan dengan Peraturan Gubernur atau Instruksi Gubernur, Instruksi kepala daerah, wali kota atau bupati," kata Bagja.

Earlier on Sunday, (3/12), the vice presidential candidate Gibran distributed milk to residents at the HI Roundabout when CFD. Gibran invited the Bawaslu of DKI Jakarta Province to trace the activities for milk to residents who were exercising if they violated the rules.

"Please investigate if something is not right. Later you can communicate with our team," said Gibran when met after badminton at the GBK Arena, Jakarta, Monday (4/12).

The eldest son of President Joko Widodo explained that the distribution of milk did not use campaign props (APK).

"What is clear is yesterday, Sunday (3/12), we were all without attributes, without APK, that's right," said Gibran.
