The Ministry Of Communication And Information Will Disseminate Messages For The 2024 Election Peacefully To Every People's Cellphone This Month

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi said that his party would spread the message of "Caimon Election" to every smartphone or cellphone owned by the public in mid-December 2023.

"In mid-December, on every cellphone there will be an article on the Peaceful Election," said Budi Arie in Jakarta, Thursday, December 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said that in the middle of this month, every mobile phone user would receive the words "Civil Election" on their device screen.

Initially, he said, the message that would be shown was "The 2024 Peace election," but due to limited character, the message that would be conveyed to the public became shorter.

"At first, I wanted to make the 2024 Peaceful Election, only the character was excess, there were three more spatialities in 2024, it didn't fit into the Peaceful Election," he said.

This step is expected to build awareness and a spirit of peace in welcoming the 2024 General Election. With messages that appear automatically on the cellphone screen, it is hoped that the public will continue to be reminded to maintain order, security, and create a peaceful and integrity election atmosphere.

Previously, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics in collaboration with cellular operators also initiated the SMS Blast Program to all mobile phone users regularly until the entire series of elections was completed.

"The Blast SMS channel starts from a narrative regarding the Peace Election, as well as calls related to election hoaxes, then Kominfo forwards the SMS narrative to cellular operators, then cellular operators will send SMS Blast to the public," explained the Minister of Communication and Information.

According to Budi Arie, the message in the dissemination of information with the narrative of the 2024 Peace election is also trying to answer various issues regarding the election.

Starting from increasing participation, fulfilling the right to vote and be elected, anticipation of SARA, anti-perturbation or polarization, and anti-hoaxes to keep the digital space peaceful.

"This narrative invites voters, especially young voters, to create Simultaneous 2024 Elections peacefully and to raise the public and the younger generation's concern for the future of the nation and state," he said.

The Minister of Communication and Information explained that various public communication efforts related to the 2024 Simultaneous Elections have the aim of encouraging and increasing public participation and increasing public knowledge about the stages of elections and simultaneous elections in 2024.

In addition, it is also to build public awareness about the importance of holding elections for the sustainability of the country.
