20 Prospective Hajj 2024 From Central Lombok Dies, Ministry Of Religion Calls Replaced By Heirs

The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) noted that 20 pilgrims from Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, who were registered to go for Hajj in 2024 died. The total hajj quota in the region is 1,002 people.

"There are 20 pilgrims who have died from the list of estimated quotas for the departure of the 2024 Hajj," said Head of Hajj and Umrah at the Ministry of Religion of Central Lombok Regency, Syamsul Hadi, in Praya, Central Lombok, NTB, Thursday, December 7, confiscated by Antara.

He said, as many as 20 prospective pilgrims who died, there had been a replacement from the heirs or the family.

"They (who died) were replaced by their heirs," he said.

He said the quota for the 1,002 prospective pilgrims consisted of 957 regular people and 45 elderly. The number of 2024 hajj quotas is more than those departing when compared to 2023, which reached 950 people.

"This year the quota for Central Lombok has increased," he said.

For the JCHs whose names have been released, in the second week of December 2023, health checks will begin at their respective health centers. This health check is important as one of the requirements for payment and passport making.

He said 1,002 pilgrims registered from early 2011 to 2012. His party emphasized that even if later out of 1,002 JCH data errors were found, data corrections could still be made.

"If there is a wrong data such as maybe gender and others, then improvements can be made, because this is data from 2011-2012," he concluded.
