JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowome assesses that investors for the development of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) are still observing the Indonesian political climate before deciding to invest in the project.

"Oh, I think the Watantandsee investors are waiting for the political climate. Yes, that's it, the quarantine is because of that, later when it's fixed, yes," said Ganjar in response to a question about IKN investors reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 7.

Ganjar, who is currently in IKN, East Kalimantan, admitted that he has begun to open communication with many investors, especially from friendly countries.

"They only need one thing, legal certainty; and this is a big problem. So, when I am with Mr. Mahfud, God willing, this will be energy for us, for Indonesia, because we have the same commitment to eradicate corruption, to create legal certainty and enforce it," explained Ganjar.

Previously, on August 29, 2023, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani ensured that financing for IKN would remain disciplined in accordance with the decisions stipulated in the IKN Main Plan in Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital.

Sri Mulyani responded to the response of factions from the Democratic Party, PDI Perjuangan, and PKS regarding the development of IKN which highlighted the importance of fiscal sustainability and governance.

"The government continues to be disciplined in carrying out financing for IKN development according to the stages listed in the IKN Main Plan," said Sri Mulyani during the DPR RI Plenary Meeting on Government Response to the General View of Factions on the 2024 State Budget Bill and Financial Notes in Jakarta, Tuesday.

He said support in fulfilling the IKN budget was carried out by continuing to encourage synergy and a combination of several creative but maintained instruments.

In that context, the government also encourages the involvement of the private sector to empower the sovereignty of state funds (sovereign funds) and develop creative financing schemes in IKN management and development.

The government has budgeted IKN development funds for 2024 amounting to IDR 40.6 trillion to prioritize infrastructure progress to the development of government complexes.

Of this value, Rp35 trillion was handed over to the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

The Ministry of PUPR also targets the construction of basic infrastructure to be completed by 2024. Based on data from the Ministry of PUPR, the realization of physical construction of the Presidential Office at IKN Nusantara as of August 17, 2023 reached 27.52 percent.
