The National Police Chief Has Pocketed The Concept Of Traffic Engineering For The 2024 Christmas And New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has prepared a traffic engineering concept to face the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays. Of course, the concept is to prevent or unravel the density of vehicles on toll roads and arteries. "Regarding engineering, we already have a concept," Sigit told reporters at the Bidakara Hotel, South Jakarta, Thursday, November 7. According to him, the National Police and other related parties already have experience in winning congestion points at the moment of the holiday. Thus, a calculation has been carried out regarding the concept of traffic engineering that will be implemented. This means that traffic engineering patterns such as contraflow and one way will be applied according to the number of vehicles or densities that occur. "So the experience when we handled yesterday's points of course we had a calculation of a kind of counting when the number of vehicles on the toll road exceeded a certain capacity, so we will apply engineering," he said.

The implementation of traffic engineering will also be evaluated at all times. The goal is that it will not have an impact on other motorists. For example, the application of contraflow or one way on toll roads will be evaluated regarding the impact that occurs on arterial roads. "Of course we will continue to evaluate so that when we carry out engineering, there should be no problems with people using roads that are also disturbed," said Sigit.
