North Sumatra Police Establish Tents To Help Students Affected By Flash Flood Humbahas Join The Exam

MEDAN - The North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) set up a multipurpose tent to help students in Simangulampe Village, Bakti Raja District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency (Humbahas), to take the semester exam.

"We have prepared facilities including tents, chairs, tables and others to make it easier for junior high school (SMP) students in this area to take the karana exam to not be able to participate in normal activities at school," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi in Medan, North Sumatra, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 6.

There were 30 students who took the exam in the tent so they wouldn't be left behind due to flash floods and landslides.

"Although the exam is located in a multipurpose tent, it does not stop the children from taking the school semester exam," said Hadi.

According to him, this multipurpose tent was also used by local people who wanted to evacuate due to the flash flood disaster.

"There are 30 beds prepared by the North Sumatra Police for the residences of people affected by this natural disaster," said the Head.

The North Sumatra Police are still trying to search for victims of flash floods and landslides in Humbahas Regency who have not been found.

"Today, personnel are searching for victims at points suspected of having victims around the lips of Lake Toba," he said.

So far, Hadi said the joint team had found three victims as a result of the flash floods and landslides. Meanwhile, officers are still searching for the other 10 victims who have not been found.

"The team is still working to search for victims and also open road access," he said.
