Anies: Labor Intensive Industry Solutions To Reduce Unemployment

BANJARMASIN - Presidential Candidate (candidate) number 1 Anies Baswedan said the increase in investment in the labor-intensive industry sector is a solution to reduce unemployment in Indonesia.

"The labor-intensive sector industry must be higher than the capital-intensive industry, because it is labor-intensive that will provide wider job opportunities to the community," Anies said in front of thousands of volunteers and sympathizers during an election campaign visit in Banjarmasin City as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 5.

Anies said it would be useless if the capital-intensive industry was prioritized if the employment was lower than capital investment.

"Seharusnya jika investasi permodalan semakin tinggi, lapangan kerja harus meningkat, namun yang terjadi justru penganggurangan cukup tinggi," ujar Anies.

The labor-intensive industry, continued Anies, is related to other agricultural, plantation, and manufacturing sectors, so that by opening more sectors, the unemployment rate will slowly decline.

Anies said that currently the cost of education is quite high, after graduating, many student alumni are unemployed because the job figure is not proportional to the number of graduations.

During his political visit in Banjarmasin, he promised as much as possible to expand employment in Indonesia, especially for the younger generation who have completed education, both high schools and universities.

For Anies, it would be a shame if it had spent a heavy amount of money on education but in the end he was unemployed.

To realize all of his political promises, Anies asked for the support of the people of Banjarmasin City, because for him it is impossible to make changes if he does not have the authority.

"The struggle to improve Indonesia is full of challenges, let's move forward for a more advanced Indonesia," said Anies.
