Reviewing The Ambon Floating Power Plant, Bahlil Ensures That The Nataru Electricity Supply Is Safe

AMBON - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia ensures that the supply and supply of electricity in Eastern Indonesia, especially the Maluku region and its surroundings during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 periods, are in a safe condition.

"I can confirm with the readiness made by friends of the State Electricity Company (PLN) to prepare for Christmas and New Year, God willing, electricity will be safe," said Bahlil after directly monitoring the Nusantara I Nusantara I Floating Power Plant (BMPP), Maluku Province. Wednesday, December 18th.

Furthermore, Bahlil said, the BMPP Nusantara I Floating Power Plant has an installed capacity of 60 MW using an oil-fuel diesel (HSD) or gas engine as its main energy source.

He ensured that the existence of the plant could maintain the stability of the electricity conditions in Ambon City.

(coupled capacity) there are 60 Megawatts (MW). So the current installed capacity in all of Ambon is around 100 MW. We are peaked between 60 MW and 70 MW. So the reserves are still around 30 MW," he continued.

For this reason, Bahlil appealed to the public not to worry about the supply of energy sources for electricity in the 3T region. Pasalny, the supply of fuel for power plants is in a safe condition.

"I don't think there's anything to worry about. Supply to fuel, coal, gas, that's also enough for a capacity of 17 to 18 days, some even 20 days. So it's relatively okay," explained Bahlil.

Regarding the 3T area that has not yet been electrified, Bahlil asked PT PLN (Persero) to immediately provide access to electricity in the area.

This is a quick response from the government in realizing fair and equitable energy in all corners of Indonesia.

"For our brothers and sisters whose villages do not have electricity yet, I have asked the Director General (Dirjen) of Electricity and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to immediately carry out an electricity program entering the village so that we can cooperate with PLN. It is President Prabowo's program and order to ensure that all people must get electricity facilities," said Bahlil.

For information, BMPP Nusantara Ambon is equipped with an automatic control system that allows efficient and reliable generating operation settings.

With the floating design, this plant has high flexibility so it can be moved to other locations according to the need for electricity supply.

To support power distribution, BMPP is connected to a local transmission network in the Ambon region, playing an important role in meeting the electricity needs of the local community and industry.

In addition, this plant is capable of operating in a long duration with optimal power output stability, making it a strategic solution in maintaining the reliability of electricity supply in archipelago areas such as Ambon.
