Anies Promises To Build Wasaka International Stadium In Banjarmasin

Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan promised to build a stadium called Wasaka International Stadium in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan, which could be the headquarters of the Barito Putera football club.

"Let's return Barito Putra to be able to return to play in Banjarmasin," said Anies during a dialogue with residents in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 5.

From information that Anies heard, Barito Putera, who is a club from Banjarmasin, had to undergo competition outside the region due to limited playgrounds. The football club uses the Demang Lehman Stadium in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan.

Anies explained that Wasaka's name was an acronym from "Waja to Kaputing" which is a saying from the local area.

According to him, a stadium was built not only for football matches, but also for cultural activities, to art. Therefore, he assessed that the stadium should be able to become a vehicle that unites all community groups.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta believes that the Wasaka International Stadium can be built in Banjarmasin. Because he claimed to have succeeded in building the Jakarta International Stadium, although many people are pessimistic.

"We are fighting all those who are pessimistic that the stadium can be built and now it is one of the best stadiums in the world, it is in Jakarta. So God willing, it will be Wasaka International Stadium," he said.

He said the plan to build the stadium was not only in Banjarmasin. However, Anies said that if he was elected president, he promised to build stadiums in 10 other cities in Indonesia.

"Well, he announced later, not now. One by one the announcements," he said.
