JAKARTA - The National Team for Winning Anies-Muhaimin (Timnas AMIN) questioned the intention of the Minister of Investment/Kelapa of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia who founded the Media Center for Advanced Indonesia.
The Media Center for Advanced Indonesia was launched by Bahlil with the function of informing government policies and preventing hoaxes targeting the government.
AMIN national team spokesman Billy David Neututumilena said the task of distributing information about the government was the domain of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo). He admitted that he was surprised why Bahlil had the hassle of establishing the media center.
"We actually question what the urgency is. Right, because the media center in many republican history, this was first formed by a media center other than those in Kominfo," said Billy at the AMIN Winning House, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, December 5.
"Why does BKPM even take care of matters related to the media which should be the main duties and functions of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics?", he continued, questioning.
Billy is worried that Bahlil will use his position to side with one of the presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Because, currently the naming of "Indonesia Maju" in the media center has been used by the coalition of parties supporting Prabowo-Gibran which also matches the name of President Jokowi's cabinet.
"Of the hundreds of words in Indonesian, it should be chosen by another. If now it creates confusion in the people, why should it be called advancing to one of the coalitions in this presidential election context?" said Billy.

As previously reported, on Monday, December 4, Bahlil launched the Media Center for Advanced Indonesia on Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Bahlil explained that this media center was specially created for the public to straighten and ensure the accuracy of data and information related to the government. Since it is currently entering the 2024 election stage, Bahlil said that this media center will also work to straighten out the accusations made by the parties participating in the presidential and legislative elections.
"We have to be able to provide clarification because if the attack comes in and we don't provide clarification, the public will immediately believe it," said Bahlil.
"So those who talk about other presidential election participants but those who are attacked by the government. Now, the government must be able to provide correct information. If necessary, we will provide clarification," he continued.
