JAKARTA - The Medan City Search and Rescue Office said that one of 12 people who were reported missing when flash floods and landslides hit Simangulampe Village in Humbang Husundutan Regency, North Sumatra, was found dead.

According to the Public Relations of the Medan City Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) Sariman Sitorus, the joint SAR team found the body of a flash flood victim named Boru Lubis at 11.25 WIB and then took him to the nearest health center.

Sariman said the joint SAR team continued their search efforts to find other residents who were reported missing when flash floods and landslides hit Simangulampe Village, Bakti Raja District, on Friday (1/12) at around 21.30 WIB.

There are still 11 victims of flash floods and landslides in Simangulampe Village who have not been found, namely Pintar Simanulang, Juni Silaban, Adriano Silaban, Tinmin Sinambela, Lasroha Simanulang, Eva Purba, Kriston Siregar, Desman Sihombing, OpGomgom, Br Banjar, and Br Simanjuntak.

Meanwhile, Head of the Communication and Information Office of Humbang Hasundutan Batara Franz Siregar said that regional apparatus organizations had dispatched officers to deal with the impact of floods and landslides in Simangulampe Village.

"Heavy equipment in BPBD, PUTR Service, and Agriculture Service have been deployed to the location. The Social Service has prepared a public kitchen to provide food for families affected by landslides," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, December 2.

The Environment Agency has prepared clean water assistance for residents affected by the disaster as well as health centers and hospitals to alert officers to provide health services to flood victims and landslides.
