For Security's Sake, Police Remind Political Parties To Manage STPP Before Campaign

NTT - West Manggarai Resort Police (Polres) reminded political parties (parpol) participating in the 2024 General Election about the importance of taking care of a notification receipt (STTP) before campaigning.

West Manggarai Police Chief AKBP Ari Satmoko said STTP was to make it easier for the police to carry out security.

"We urge all political party administrators (political parties) and the election participating campaign team in West Manggarai Regency to pay attention to STTP," he said in a written statement, Friday, December 1, which was confiscated by Antara.

The implementation of the 2024 election campaign phase starts from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024.

He emphasized that the General Elections Commission (KPU) through KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 15 of 2023 concerning the 2024 Election Campaign had determined that prior to the implementation of the campaign, political party administrators (parpol) and election participating campaign teams were required to have a STTP.

"We urge all political party administrators (political parties) and the election participating campaign team to notify the implementation of the campaign first so that the police can adjust the security pattern," said Ari.

According to him, according to PKPU Number 15 of 2023, it is stated that the campaign team and campaign implementers must submit a written notification to the police with a copy to the KPU and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) according to the level.

The notification in question, he continued, was made in written form containing the location of the activity, implementation time, estimated number of participants, vehicles, and routes that campaign participants would pass.

In addition, he said, the person in charge of implementing the campaign must include applying for a permit to the police.

"This basis for notification is what the police used to issue the Police STTP before campaign activities were carried out. It is important to know together in order to achieve security and order in the implementation of a safe 2024 election campaign," said Ari.
