PM Netanyahu's Advisor Said Israel Will Continue To Extend Ceasefire When Hamas Releases 10 Hostages

JAKARTA - Israel will extend the ceasefire every day, when the Palestinian Hamas militant group continues to release 10 hostages, said a senior Israeli official on Thursday.

Mark Regev, Israeli Prime Minister's senior advisor Benjamin Netanyahu, told CNN, Israel's position regarding the extension of humanitarian pauses in "very clear" battle.

"Every day, we approve the extension of the release of 10 hostages, 10 hostages are still alive," Regev said, as reported by CNN November 30.

"If Hamas continues to release hostages, 10 hostages a day, we will extend the pause," he continued.

When asked whether the battle would be continued in the next 24 hours, Regev said, "If Hamas fails to meet the extension requirements, which is to free 10 Israeli citizens, then of course the battle can be continued,"

Regev said, there were still 140 hostages in Gaza. According to him, Israel accepted the humanitarian pause agreement "to issue our hostages, which can be extended every day for one day," he said.

"This is a pause of humanity in our struggle against Hamas, Israel is determined to destroy the Hamas military machine and his power over Gaza," Regev said when asked about further negotiations.

"We will not play with our people's lives. Hamas knows what the parameters are from the agreement," he said.

It is known, so far the Hamas militant group has released around 93 hostages in the Gaza Strip. In return, the Israeli side has released around 210 Palestinian prisoners from their prisons.
