DIY Governor Appoints Regency/City UMK, Here Are The Details

YOGYAKARTA - Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X set the Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK) for 2024 with the highest wage value in the city of Yogyakarta of Rp2,492,997.00.

The 2024 Regency/City Minimum Wage which was determined through the Decree (SK) of the Governor of DIY Number 396/Kep/2023 was conveyed by the DIY Secretary Beny Suharsono at the Kepatihan Ward, Yogyakarta, Thursday, November 30.

"All the results of calculating the district/city minimum wage in DIY are already higher or above the provincial minimum wage (UMP) for DIY," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

Previously, the DIY UMP in 2024 was set at IDR 2,125,897.61, an increase of 7.24 percent from this year.

Beny said the UMK for Yogyakarta City in 2024 was set at IDR 2,492,997.00 with an increase of IDR 168,221.49 or 7.24 percent from this year.

Meanwhile, Sleman Regency UMK was IDR 2,315,976.39, an increase of IDR 156,457.17 (7.25 percent). Meanwhile, Bantul, IDR 2,216,463.00, increased by IDR 150,024.18 or 7.26 percent.

Next, the UMK of Kulon Progo Regency is IDR 2,207,736.95, an increase of IDR 157,289.80 (7.67 percent) and Gunungkidul is IDR 2,188,041.00, up IDR 138,815.00 or 6.77 percent.

The amount of the UMK has been agreed based on the recommendations of the regent/mayor on the proposal of the regency/city wage council in DIY.

Beny said the determined UMK must be enforced starting January 1, 2024, specifically for workers or laborers whose working period is under one year.

Based on Law (UU) Number 6 of 2023 article 92, continued Beny, employers are required to prepare and apply the structure and scale of wages in the company so that wages for workers or laborers with a working period of one year or more are guided by the structure and scale of wages.

"Those who have worked for more than a year or more use the payroll or wages structure in the company," he said.

He emphasized that the UMK must be carried out by all companies and there will be no postponement or postponement of time.

According to Beny, the evaluation and supervision of companies related to the implementation of the UMK decision will be carried out by the labor and transmigration offices (Disnakertrans) in each district/city.

"Strictly, employers are prohibited from paying wages below the UMK and there will be no suspension of payments for UMK in 2024," said Beny.
