TPN Ganjar-Mahfud Worried That Voter Data At KPU Will Be Hacked By Hackers Utilizing The 2024 Election Intervention

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar-Mahfud MD, Andika Perkasa is worried that voter data that has been broken into on the official website of the General Election Commission (KPU) is used by hijackers or heckers to be used for intervention in the provisions made by the KPU related to the 2024 election.

"Cyber security raids is thought to have happened, the most important thing for us as one of the participants in this presidential election is how the troubleshooting of the KPU must also be explained in detail regarding the steps, so that the data that has been taken cannot be used for example to intervene in any of the KPU's own decisions later, especially those related to digital," Andika said when met after landing at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 29, confiscated by Antara.

Previously, public attention was directed at an anonymous hacker named "Jimbo" who claimed to have hacked the KPU website and accessed voter data from the site.

The account shares 500 thousand example data in a single upload on the BreachForums site. The site is usually used to sell data from hacking results.Jimbo also verified the correctness of the data with several screenshots from the Cendptonline.kpu.go.id site. In its upload, feasibility reveals that of the 252 million data it obtained, there are several duplicated data. After filtering, found 204,807,203 unique data. This figure is almost the same as the number of voters in the KPU Permanent Voter List (DPT) which reached 204,807,222 voters from 514 districts and cities in Indonesia as well as 128 representative countries. The data that was successfully accessed by "Jimbo" includes personal information, such as the population identification number (NIK), family card number (KK), ID number, voter passport number abroad, full name, gender, date of birth, date of birth, marriage status, complete address, and voting code (TPS).

Meanwhile, the KPU continues to coordinate with the Election Cyber Task Force to ensure the security of voter data in the 2024 General Election. "Currently we are asking for help from the Cyber Task Force, now the BSSN (Siber and State Password Agency) is working," said RI KPU member Betty Epsilon Idroos at the KPU Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (28/11). Betty said the KPU had received information regarding the alleged burglary of voter data by a hacker who used the name "Jimbo". The KPU immediately conducted a search and cooperated with the relevant ministries and government agencies (K/L), including coordinating with BSSN to verify the data source suspected of having been compromised.
