The Bali High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has granted a request for a suspension of detention of suspect HS for the alleged fast track illegal levy (Pungli) case at the International Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali.
Head of Bali Attorney General's Office, Putu Eka Sabana, explained that his party had previously detained the suspect based on Article 21 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code regarding concerns that the suspect would run away, destroy or destroy evidence and or repeat a criminal act.
"Investigators have carefully considered the letter of application for a suspension of detention signed by the Director General of Immigration on November 21, 2023 and the letter from the Head of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Ngurah Rai which was submitted on the grounds of internal examination and evaluation," said Eka Sabana, Tuesday, November 28.
The Bali Prosecutor's Office appreciates the commitment of the Special Immigration Office Class I TPI Ngurah Rai to improve the system and management of immigration services to prevent a repeat of similar irregularities in the future.
The Prosecutor's Office is considering institutional guarantees that the suspect HS will not run away, destroy evidence and repeat the crime as requested for a suspension. Investigators counted on Monday (27/11) suspending the detention of suspect HS.
"The suspect HS is required to report himself to the Bali Prosecutor's Office investigators every Monday and Friday as well as other obligations determined by investigators. The suspension action does not stop the investigation process in this case," he said.
