Following In The Footsteps Of The 2017 DKI Regional Head Election, Anies Chooses The Red Land The Beginning Point Of The Presidential Election Campaign

Presidential Candidate Number 1 Anies Baswedan chose Tanah Merah Village in North Jakarta as the starting point on the first day of the Presidential Election campaign stage because he followed in his footsteps during the 20217 DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

According to him, the village has a history of emotional closeness to him. He said the first residents in the village asked him to run as a candidate for governor in 2016.

"Then on September 23, 2016, at that time, the registration for the regional elections was on Friday, on Saturday I toured the first in Tanah Merah village," Anies said before leaving to start a campaign at his residence in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 28.

According to him, Tanah Merah Village has a land dispute problem with a state-owned company. Then when he became Governor, Anies said he issued a collective Building Permit (IMB) for these residents as a temporary solution.

"So now we will walk towards a mandate that is currently regulated through national-level elections. I started from the village where we first started in Jakarta,"

With this history, Anies admitted that he had emotional closeness to the village. Previously, he also admitted that he often visited the village.

Anies left his residence to Tanah Merah Village at around 08.15 WIB. He started the first day of the campaign by asking for prayers to his mother, accompanied by his wife, Fery Farhati.
