Hajj Fees Set At IDR 93.4 Million, Hajj Candidates Only Pay IDR 56 Million

JAKARTA - The government and Commission VIII of the DPR have set a Hajj (BPIH) fee of IDR 93.4 million. Prospective Hajj participants only pay a Hajj Travel Fee (Bipih) of IDR 56 million per person.

"The average cost of the Bipih Hajj pilgrimage or costs paid directly by pilgrims is Rp56 million per congregation or 60 percent," said Chairman of Commission VIII DPR Ashabul Kahfi when reading the conclusions of the meeting reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 27.

This agreement was obtained after the BPIH Working Committee (Panja) 1445 Hijri/2024 AD conducted a series of long discussions, discussing proposals for Hajj costs proposed by the government.

The government initially submitted a proposal from BPIH with an average of Rp. 105 million. The Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah at the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia then rationalized a number of BPIH components and found a figure of Rp. 94.3 million.

However, in the next meeting, Commission VIII and the Indonesian Ministry of Religion again carried out calculations and re-rationalization so that the figure of Rp93.4 million was obtained and further determined as the cost of the 2024 Hajj.

After the stipulation of the Hajj fee of 1445 Hijri/2024 AD, the prospective hajj participants only paid Bipih Rp56 million per person (60 percent). While the rest is taken from the value of the benefits of BPKH management results of Rp37.3 million (40 percent).

Ashabul Kahfi said the costs that must be paid by the congregation include flight costs, Mecca accommodation, some accommodation in Medina, living expenses, and visa costs.

Then, the cost of the value of benefits is used for the costs of Hajj organizers in Saudi Arabia and the cost of organizing the pilgrimage in the country.
