The National Police Chief Said About The Possibility Of A Suspect Apart From Firli Bahuri In The Alleged SYL Extortion Case

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked to wait for the progress of the investigation into the alleged extortion case against former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

The statement was made when asked about the possibility of a new suspect in the case, apart from Firli Bahuri who was temporarily dismissed from the KPK.

"Yes, we'll see about the trip," Sigit told reporters, Monday, November 27.

He made no other statement in response to this matter. But the former Kabareskrim gave a response about Firli Bahuri's move to file a pretrial lawsuit.

Sigit asked the investigative team to be prepared to deal with it. In the lawsuit filed by Firli Bahuri, the respondent's party, namely the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto.

"I think the process has been going on, yesterday it was conveyed that there are pretrial stages that will be taken. Of course, investigators must also prepare as well as possible," said Sigit.

That way, all the results of the investigation that have been carried out can be accounted for in front of the panel of judges.

In addition, the question of the assumption that there was an error in determining the suspect was asked by the National Police Chief to be refuted by proving the investigation process according to the rules.

"So that when the process goes on, our investigation can be accounted for. I think that's normative," said Sigit.

In the case of alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities, Firli Bahuri was named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22.

Several pieces of evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect, namely, foreign exchange documents worth Rp7.4 billion. Then, there were also the results of the extraction of 21 cellphones.

Firli was charged with Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Thus, it is threatened with life imprisonment.
