Firli Bahuri Will Fight Suspect Determination, Polda Metro: Suspect Rights

JAKARTA - Director of Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak emphasized that his party did not question the legal plan for the resistance of the status of suspect Firli Bahuri. The Regional Police emphasized that pretrial is the right of the suspect.

"Yes, it is the right of the suspect and his attorney," said Kombes Ade Safri at Polda Metro, Friday, November 24.

He ensured that professional investigators were also accountable in handling investigations related to the extortion case of Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

"In principle, investigators will be transparent and accountable in carrying out the investigations carried out," added Ade.

Regarding the SYL extortion case, Polda Metro Jaya will examine four leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) next week.

"Including that, we are on an agenda for next week's examination regarding the examination of KPK leaders," said Ade.

The four leaders in question are Alexander Marwata, Johanis Tanak, Nawawi Pomolango, and Nurul Ghufron.

Firli Bahuri was named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22.

Several pieces of evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect, namely, foreign exchange documents worth Rp7.4 billion. Then, there were also the results of the extraction of 21 cellphones.
