Kuningan Police Take Muncul Samples To Investigate Mass Poisoning Cases

The Inafis Team of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Sat Reskrim) of the Kuningan Police, West Java brought a number of mold samples for investigation purposes because the material was suspected to have caused 10 residents in the area to experience food poisoning.

"The mass poisoning is thought to have been caused by fungi taken by residents in one of the gardens," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kuningan Police, AKP I Putu Ika Prabawa, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 21.

The mass poisoning occurred on Monday (20/11) yesterday in Tugumulya Village, Kuningan Regency. As a result of this incident, nine residents had to be rushed to the hospital for medical examination and one victim was declared dead.

Regarding this case, Putu said, the Kuningan Police Criminal Investigation Unit had conducted a crime scene (TKP) at the location of the fungal collection to collect facts for handling the incident.

The herbal medicine was obtained by a resident with the initials H. He took it from the garden and did not know whether this fungus was suitable for consumption or not," he said.

From the results of the interim investigation, H immediately took the mushrooms to his house and when he arrived at his residence, a friend asked for the ingredients to be cooked and consumed.

Putu said that two hours after consuming the mushrooms, some residents began to feel nauseous and experience vomiting.

They experienced nausea, dizziness and vomiting. There were 10 victims, nine were treated and one person died," he said.

Putu said the victim died on behalf of Juma (78) previously had a history of illness. Meanwhile, eight victims have returned to their respective homes and one victim is still undergoing intensive care.

Putu ensured that the investigation of this case continued. "We have conducted a crime scene investigation and continue to investigate," he said.
