5 Jokowi's Instruction On Pandemic Handling That Must Be Supported By The TNI-Polri

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo gave five instructions to the ranks of the TNI and Polri to support the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was conveyed when giving a briefing to the participants of the 2021 Military and Police Leadership Meeting.

Jokowi emphasized that the health crisis caused by COVID-19 is still not over. Therefore, first, Jokowi instructed the ranks of the TNI-Polri to continue to actively discipline health protocols. Also, active in supporting 3T and also supporting the implementation of micro-scale PPKM.

"Why do I need to emphasize this? Because in that village the TNI has a name called Babinsa and the Police have something called Bhabinkantibmas. We hope that everything will work integrated. Second, Jokowi asked the TNI-Polri ranks to support the smooth running of mass vaccinations. This mass vaccination is carried out in certain clusters, such as markets or areas that are at high risk of COVID-19.

"We know that our target to achieve herd immunity, communal immunity, is to vaccinate approximately 70 percent of our population. Therefore, I ask the TNI-Polri ranks to move quickly to help vaccinate so that we can finish it immediately," said Jokowi.

Third, the ranks of the TNI-Polri must actively support a conducive business climate and investment climate. According to Jokowi, currently a lot of job opportunities are needed, job opportunities, jobs that have been eroded due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Strengthen political stability and security. This is very important, very important. Provide legal certainty. Once again, the business climate is very important because it will boost our economic growth to be positive," said the former DKI Governor.

Fourth, Jokowi instructed the TNI-Polri ranks to always respect and uphold democracy and provide a sense of justice to the community.

"Our country is a democracy that respects freedom of opinion and organization. Our country is a state based on law, which must carry out the fairest possible law, protect broader interests. As well as guarantee a sense of justice for the people," he explained.

Fifth, Jokowi asked the TNI and Polri to become more professional institutions and work synergistically.

The TNI-Polri must become a modern organization with good governance that is transparent, accountable, free from criminal acts of corruption. Stick to Pancasila, take advantage of developments in science and technology.

"Once again, work synergistically to protect the interests of the people, the interests of the people, the interests of the nation, the interests of the state. Professionalism and synergy between the TNI and Polri will be the guardians of the nation's strength and innovation towards an advanced Indonesia," he concluded.
