SOUTH KALIMANTAN - A total of five people died due to landslides in the mining area of Paser Regency, East Kalimantan (Kaltim).

Members of the Tabalong Regency BPBD team, Fahri said the dead victims in the border areas of East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan (South Kalimantan) were evacuated to Regional General Hospital (RSUD) H Badaruddin Kasim Tabalong, South Kalimantan, Sunday 19 November.

Fahri said the five bodies of landslide victims would be handed over to the Paser Regency Government, East Kalimantan and HST Regency Government, South Kalimantan.

Fahri said joint officers from BPBD Tabalong, South Kalimantan Basarnas, TNI/Polri and local volunteers were trying to find, and evacuate victims buried by landslides.

He added that the location of the landslide entered the East Kalimantan region. However, the joint team can only access through Purui Village, Jaro District, and Mangpandum Village, Muara Uya District, Tabalong Regency.

Volunteers from Paser Regency and its surroundings also helped with the evacuation process considering that the landslide location can only be accessed using two-wheeled vehicles.

In this incident, three victims were buried by landslides on Saturday, November 18. Meanwhile, two other victims were found on Sunday, November 19.
