Acting Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Ayodhia GL Kalake asked the acting Regents of Alor and Central Sumba to within one year as regents to focus on handling extreme poverty and controlling inflation.

"We ask the Acting Regent of Alor and Acting Regent of Central Sumba to focus on only two programs in one year leading the area," said Acting Governor of East Nusa Tenggara Province Ayodhia GL Kalake when inaugurating two acting regents, namely Lerry Lupidara as Acting Regent of Central Sumba and Zet Sony Libing as Acting Regent of Alor in Kupang as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 13.

Lerry Lupidara previously served as Head of the Economic Bureau and Development Administration of the NTT Regional Secretariat replacing Regent Paulus SK Limu and Deputy Regent Daniel Landa.

Meanwhile, Zet Sony Libing is the Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Office of NTT Province replacing the Regent of Alor Amon Jobo and Deputy Regent (late) Imran Duru who died of a heart attack while on duty in Jakarta some time ago.

Ayodhia GL Kalake said that one year as the acting Regent of Alor and acting Regent of Central Sumba was not a long time so sincere dedication and service were needed based on firm commitment and integrity.

He hopes that within one year, two priority programs will be carried out, namely handling extreme poverty and controlling inflation, so it is necessary to innovate in overcoming poverty and controlling inflation so that the number of poor people continues to decrease.

"Through experience in the government sector, we believe that these two regents will be able to overcome the various challenges that have existed in the area by providing various solutions in accelerating development in Alor and Central Sumba Regencies for the next year," said Ayodhia GL Kalake.

He also hopes that the two acting regents who are inaugurated will build harmonious coordination and cooperation with the legislative institutions and Forkopimda, religious leaders and local community leaders.

"Perlayanan pemerintahan di daerah bisa berjalan efektif apabila ada keterbukaan komunikasi dalam membangun kerja sama yang baik," kata Ayodhia GL Kalake.

He also reminded the regents to continue to make efforts to overcome stunting so that the stunting rate in the two areas continues to decline so that the stunting reduction target in 2024 can reach 14 percent nationally.
