JAKARTA - A joint team from the Barelang Police (Batam, Rempang, Galang) together with the Batu Aji Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of a woman in Batam City, Riau Islands Province.

"Yes, it is true that the suspect with the initials AH was arrested in Pekanbaru yesterday, Saturday (11 November). We will convey the details at tomorrow's press conference, Monday (13 November)," said Batu Police Chief Aji Benny Syahrizal, Sunday, November 12.

Previously, a woman with the initials TRH (60) was found dead in her house in Batam City, Riau Islands on Saturday, November 4.

The victim, suspected of being the former Director of the Padang Sidempuan Hospital, North Sumatra, was found dead in a pathetic state.

Benny said that when the victim was found, the victim's body was already in a state of 90 percent charred on top of the bed. In addition, the victim's head was also found wrapped in a black plastic bag and there was a pool of blood.

In the victim's room, seven three LPG gas cylinders were also found and eight plastic bottles were burned, allegedly the oil bottles used to burn the victim.

The police also found a cell phone that allegedly belonged to the victim who was burned on a pillow near the victim's body.

"The victim was allegedly killed before being burned by the suspect," he said.

Currently, suspect AH has been taken to the Batu Aji Police Station and detained by the Police.
