Pasuruan Students Arrested For Selling Porn Content For Minors, 39 Folders Become Evidence

SURABAYA - A student with the initials FNJ, 18, was arrested by the Cyber Team of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the East Java Police.

The young man from Dayu Hamlet, Pasuruan, Prigen, Dayurejo, Pasuruan Regency, is known to sell pornographic content for minors on social media (social media).

"Based on the results of the Cyber Team patrol carried out by the East Java Police Ditreskrimsus in cyberspace. Then there is LP model A, finally this case is revealed," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police Kombes Dirmanto in Surabaya, Friday, November 10.

Head of Sub-Directorate V Cyber Crime Ditreskrimsus Polda Jatim AKBP Henri Novere Santoso, explained that the young man was arrested at his residence at around 19.00 WIB, on Wednesday, October 8, 2023. Furthermore, the police conducted a search at the residence and office of the perpetrator where he worked.

"After a search was carried out, both at the suspect's house and at his workplace, and three cellphones were found used to commit his crimes," said Henri.

After examining three male phones, continued Henri, strong evidence was obtained that the suspect deliberately bought and sold immoral content which was dominated by minors. The suspect sold it from Rp. 25 thousand to Rp. 250 thousand.

"There were around 39 folders found, each of which contained photos and videos containing immoral content," he said.

As a result of his actions, the suspect FNJ was charged with Article 27 paragraph 1 of the ITE Law with a maximum imprisonment of six years, and/or a maximum fine of IDR 1 billion.
