JAKARTA - Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh called on international leaders to stop implementing "double standards" in the Israeli-Palestinian war, as the death toll of civilians in Gaza continues to grow, including casualties from among children.

"How many people have to die so that the war ends?" Shtayyeh said, speaking in front of senior government representatives from around the world at a humanitarian conference in Paris.

"Are six children per hour, four women per hour, 10,000 people in 30 days enough?" he asked.

"People's priorities in the Gaza Strip include sending more water, electricity, and medicines," said Shtayyeh.

The area of the bag was hit by a disease because more than 1,300 bodies were trapped under the rubble, he added.

On that occasion, PM Shtayyeh also rejected the proposed division of Palestinian territories.

"Legal defense is not the same as occupying other people's land," he said.

"We cannot talk about the Gaza Strip without discussing the entire Palestinian territories. Separate solutions will not yield results," he said.

It is known that about 1,400 people were killed and 240 others held hostage, as a result of a Hamas attack on Israel's southern region on October 7, triggering a bombing and a total blockade of Gaza.

Citing Reuters and Xinhua, at least 10,569 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7, Gaza-based Palestinian Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qedra said the death toll included 4,324 children, adding more than 26,000 people were injured.

He also called on the international community to protect the Palestinian people from Israeli attacks, as most of the victims were children and women.

As previously reported, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Wednesday the number of civilians killed in the Gaza Strip showed something was wrong with Israel's military operations against Palestinian Hamas militants.

"There was a violation committed by Hamas when they had a human shield. But when we saw the number of civilians killed in the military operation (Israel), something was clearly wrong," Guterres said.

Guterres compared the number of children killed in Gaza to the worldwide number of victims of the conflict he reports annually to the UN Security Council. On Monday, he said Gaza was a "burden for children."

"Every year, the highest number of child assassinations committed by one of the actors in all the conflicts we witnessed reached hundreds," Guterres explained.

"In recent days we have seen thousands of children killed in Gaza, which means something went wrong in the way military operations were carried out," he added.
