Police Will Examine Jhon Kei-Nus Kei In Case Of GR Shot Dead In Bekasi

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya will examine Jhon Kei and Nus Kei regarding the feud between its members which resulted in the death of GR as a result of being shot in Bekasi, West Java.

Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Hengki Haryadi said the plan to investigate Jhon Kei was due to the discovery of digital evidence in the form of communication with members of the Nus Kei group before the attack.

Jhon Kei is known to be still languishing in the Nusakambangan correctional institution (Lapas).

"We have found digital traces, and we will confirm. If necessary, we will go to Nusakambangan to check," Hengki told reporters quoted on Tuesday, November 7.

The confirmation or clarification was made in order to find out the conversation between John Kei and members of the Nus Kei group before the attack.

"That before the attack, there was communication between the group of attackers and John Kei," he said.

Separately, the Head of the Resmob Sub-Directorate of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya AKBPurd Yudho Uly said that not only Jhon Kei would be questioned. Nus Kei as the leader of the attacking group was also questioned.

However, it was not conveyed in detail about the time of the examination of Nus Kei.

"(Nus Kei) Will be examined," said Yudho.

Meanwhile, the feud between the two groups was motivated by revenge. This is because their conflict has occurred in Maluku since September 2023.

The attack began when the Nus Kei group gathered at its headquarters in the Pondok Gede area, Sunday, October 29. There, they planned an attack plan.

The Nus Kei group consists of six people. They have the initials GR, YR, ARK, BMR, YBR and HDR. They have been arrested.

After the strategy was deemed mature, they headed to the headquarters of the John Kei group, which is the Titian Indah Complex. They are equipped with sharp weapons (sajam) to attack.

However, when the attack occurred, Jhon Kei's group was already ready. The resistance was carried out using firearms (senpi).

Until finally, in that feud GR became a victim because he was shot. He was declared dead while on his way to the hospital.

In that case, 4 members of Jhon Kei, namely, Felix, EU, MWT, and PM have been arrested. While two of them are still fugitives.

In this case, the perpetrators in the case were charged with Article 169 concerning participating in unlawful acts, as well as Article 358 of the Criminal Code and Article 335 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, the suspect in the shooting on behalf of suspect Felix, is suspected of under Article 340 and Article 338 with a maximum threat of 20 years.
