Panji Gumilang Initial Session Held Wednesday At The Indramayu District Court

JAKARTA - Head of the District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Indramayu Arief Indra Kusuma said the suspect in the alleged criminal act of blasphemy Panji Gumilang was scheduled to hold his inaugural trial at the Indramayu District Court (PN), West Java, Wednesday (8/11).

"Based on the determination of the chairman of the Indramayu District Court Council, on Wednesday, the first trial will begin," said Arief, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 6.

Arief explained that the trial was a follow-up after being transferred to stage II of the case along with evidence to the Kejari. The agenda for the inaugural trial of Panji Gumilang is the reading of the indictment by the Public Prosecutor (JPU).

He ensured that all preparatory stages had been carried out, so that the agenda for the inaugural trial was decided to be held on Wednesday this week.

"The plan is that with the agenda of reading the indictment from the prosecutor, it is related to the blasphemy case," he said.

His party appealed that during the trial, the community and all parties in Indramayu must jointly maintain conduciveness and order.

Meanwhile, regarding the determination of Panji Gumilang as a suspect in the alleged money laundering case (TPPU), Arief has not been able to provide further information because until now his party is still waiting for the process of investigating the case.

"For TPPU, I apologize because it is still in the realm of investigation, so we have not been able to provide information," he said.

He said the most important thing that must now be done is to wait for the process to be completed. "So later they will both support and pray for the investigation process to run smoothly," he said.

Previously, Panji Gumilang had the status of a defendant in the alleged blasphemy case and was being detained by the Indramayu District Attorney, West Java since October 30, 2023.

The Indramayu Prosecutor's Office has entrusted Panji Gumilang to the Class IIB Indramayu Correctional Institution (Lapas) with the status of a prosecutor's detainee.
