There Was An Explosion In The New Johar Fire, Residents Use River Water To Put Out The Fire

JAKARTA - A number of mutual cooperation residents continued to struggle to extinguish the flames that burned two housing units on Jalan Baladewa, RT 07/01, Galur Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta.

"One gas cylinder explosion was heard from inside the house. Two houses were burned," said a resident named Rian (25) to VOI at the scene, Monday, November 6, evening.

The fire quickly continued to burn people's houses which still contained a number of vehicles and electronic goods. A number of residents living around the location also helped water with makeshift tools such as buckets and tubs filled.

Luckily, even though the location of the fire was in a residential area, firefighters did not lack water supply. The location of the fire is also on the banks of the Sentiong river.

"There is a lot of water from the river. We transport it using buckets manually to extinguish the fire," he said.

Previously, it was reported that residential areas on Jalan Baladewa, Galur Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta were scorched by fire on Monday, November 6, evening. The fire continued to burn and spread since 19.10 WIB.
