The Criminal Investigation Unit team of the Teluk Mengkudu Police in collaboration with the Serdang Bedagai (Sergai) Police Satreskrim arrested the perpetrator of the murder initials JE (27). He was arrested in the Dungun River, Tanjung Beringin District, Sergai Regency, North Sumatra.

JE is listed as a resident of Pematang Kuala, Teluk Mengkudu District, Sergai Regency. Brimen added that the police confiscated evidence in the form of a sickle.

The incident took place on Thursday, November 2 at around 19.30 WIB. JE abused Poniran (56) in Pematang Kuala Village, Teluk Mengkudu District, Sergai Regency. The victim is his own uncle.
Receiving this information, personnel from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Teluk Mengkudu Police together with the Sergai Police Satreskrim and the operational team visited the TKP.
"However, the victim has been taken by his family to the Sultan Sulaiman Hospital (RS), because the injuries were severe, Poniran was declared dead," he said.
The Head of Public Relations explained reports from residents that there were victims of abuse at the Teluk Mengkudu Police, then the personnel conducted an investigation until they managed to arrest the perpetrators.
"The perpetrator carried out the persecution because of revenge due to sexual violence that was deviant by the victim against the suspect," explained Brimen.
