Hasto: Gibran Has Returned The PDI-P KTA

DENPASAR - Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP Hasto Kristiyanto admitted that Gibran Rakabuming Raka had returned his PDI-P membership card (KTA) and the person concerned had officially said goodbye.

"Yes, it has been resolved by the Surakarta City PDI-P DPC because Mas Gibran will receive KTA from the Surakarta City DPC so that he is no longer a PDI-P member because he has said goodbye," said Hasto in Denpasar, Bali, Saturday.

Apart from Gibran having said goodbye, he said, by law it has been stated that the presidential and vice presidential candidates are promoted by political parties or coalitions of political parties.

PDI Perjuangan together with PPP, Perindo, and Hanura have carried Ganjar-Mahfud, then Prabowo-Gibran has been promoted by the many and large combination of parties.

"This is different from the law on political parties so that automatically when someone has been nominated by another party, yes, the KTA should not be concurrent," said Hasto, who was met after the declaration of support for the Muhammadiyah Bali Youth Force Alumni.

It was also emphasized that it was forbidden for someone to become a member of two political parties, even including Gibran, the eldest son of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

"Indeed, because he became the son of an official and then he allowed three KTAs? 'It's not allowed, this is a law, this is the constitution. So, his goodbyes have been accepted," he said.

PDI Perjuangan saat ini sedang menunggu keputusan berikutnya pasca keputusan MK menyetujui gugatan batas usia yang memberi jalan bagi Gibran mengikuti kontestasi karena pernah menjadi kepala daerah.

He hopes that the Constitutional Court will become the bulwark of the constitution.
