Police Send 26.5 Tons Of Government Assistance To Palestine

JAKARTA - The National Police will dispatch aid for Palestinians who are hit by war. The amount reaches 26.5 tons consisting of tents, blankets, jackets, and medicines.

"The National Police will continue to contribute to supporting the Indonesian government's policies on humanitarian missions for the Palestinian people," said the Head of the International Relations Division (Kadiv Hubinter) of the National Police Inspector General Krishna Murti in a written statement, Saturday, November 4.

Khrisna then detailed that there were 100 platoon tents, 1,000 blankets, 1,000 jackets, as well as medical devices and medicines weighing up to 6 tons that were sent.

"The Indonesian government as a whole provides 51.5 tons of assistance. However, 26.5 tons are managed by the Police," he said.

The aid will later be dispatched by charter plane prepared by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit. The plan is that Khrisna and other Polri members will also go to Palestine to deliver directly.

Departure will be carried out on November 6 at around 01.00 WIB from Soekarno-Hatta Airport. "Mr. National Police Chief has prepared flights using the A330 aircraft which will be led by my Head of the Police Hubinter Division," said Khrisna.

This schedule has been arranged and is expected to arrive at the same time as two C-130 Hercules aircraft numbered A-1327 and A-1328 from the 31st Air Squadron and 32 Indonesian Air Squadron whose departures were released today by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

As previously reported, President Jokowi said that humanitarian assistance from Indonesia for the Palestinian people in Gaza was in the form of drinking water clarity tools to medical equipment. The total weight reaches 51.5 tons which are sent in two waves.

"The aid items distributed are adjusted to the needs in Gaza, for example, the clarity of drinking water there is a lot of difficulty," he said during a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base Ops, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, November 4.

The first wave of aid weighing more than 21 tons was sent using two aircraft, namely C-130 Hercules and A-1328 from the 31st Air Squadron and 32 Air Squadron of the Indonesian Air Force from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base Base, Jakarta. Then the rest were flown by Boeing 737 cargo aircraft from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten.
