PDIP Appreciates Three Presidential Candidates Invited To Jokowi To The Palace: That's A Positive Thing

The PDI-P (PDIP) appreciates President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) move to invite three presidential candidates (candidates) in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) to the State Palace, Jakarta. This step is called positive to unite and make the country's stability reachable.

"Three presidential candidates invited to a friendly lunch with the president is a positive thing that must be appreciated," said PDIP DPP chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat to reporters, Monday, October 30.

Djarot assessed that this lunch could show the public that anyone can compete during the presidential election and ensure Jokowi's neutrality as head of state.

"Don't let the instrument of power side with one of the candidates. For example, even though Mr. Gibran is Mr. Jokowi's son, power infrastructure is then used to support Pak Prabowo. I am sure that Pak Jokowi is standing above all of them, not having the right of one candidate," continued Djarot.

However, Jokowi's neutrality cannot only be shown by calling the three presidential candidates to sit down together and eat a table. Hopefully, this attitude will continue to be maintained until the campaign stage runs.

"I am sure that Pak Jokowi stands above all, not on the side of one of the coulddidars, but really sided with the integrity, to stability and to the success of the 2024 election," said Djarot.

"He (President Jokowi, ed) must be neutral. Not only from the current meeting situation, but more than that. After this, not only from a rhetoric perspective, but from attitude and action. So what? So that the election results can be accepted by the public that the government is neutral," he said.

As previously reported, President Jokowi invited Anies Baswedan, Ganjar Pranowo, and Prabowo Subianto to have lunch together at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta. After this activity, the three of them compactly admitted that they had no serious discussions.

However, Anies and Ganjar compactly alluded to President Jokowi's neutrality and the state apparatus in the 2024 presidential election who were received positive.

"We see that is an important message that will make tomorrow's presidential election run safely and peacefully, because all elements of the organizers show a neutral, professional attitude," Anies said at the State Palace after the meeting.

"So that's one of the things we conveyed to him, and he responded positively, both so that our discussion was also smooth," he concluded.
