JAKARTA - Vice Presidential candidate Muhaimin Iskandar hopes that President Joko Widodo as head of state and head of government can act fairly during the 2024 General Election.

"Jokowi as head of state, head of government, of course must be neutral," said Muhaimin as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 30.

This was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the DPP National Awakening Party (PKB) in response to the lunch event between President Jokowi and three presidential candidates at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

Muhaimin reminded that in Islam, being fair must be done by a leader, even to his own son.

It is known that President Jokowi's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is running as a candidate for vice president to accompany Prabowo Subianto.

"Islam said it was fair, even to its children," he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo held lunch with three presidential candidates, namely Anies Baswedan, Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto.

At the lunch together which took place at around 12.30 WIB, the President and three presidential candidates will sit around the round dining table.
