The Cianjur Police, West Java, conducted an examination of 11 witnesses to investigate allegations of Umrah gratuities with officials within the Cianjur Regency Government which was accommodated by a businessman.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Cianjur Iptu Tono Listianto said dozens of witnesses who had undergone examination were officials within the Cianjur Regency Government, immigration parties and Umrah travel services and summoned businessmen who financed it.

The police have scheduled other witnesses to be summoned, including those who participated in the Umrah group to reveal the alleged gratification. "The investigation continues with the summoning of other witnesses, all of which have been scheduled," he said.

Previously, the police had investigated and raised cases of alleged gratification related to Umrah together which were held with a number of officials within the Cianjur Regency Government, to the investigation by summoning all departing participants.

"Not only related to the alleged gratification, we have summoned the perpetrators of the abuse of students by a Umrah participant when questioning the activity, on behalf of Jamaludin and other witnesses," he said.

Previously, students who were members of the Tjianjoer Student Association (Himat) reported allegations of gratification in the Umrah agenda with officials, politicians, and successful teams throughout Cianjur Regency because the activity was allegedly funded by one of the entrepreneurs.

Chairman Himat Edwin Nursalam, said that the alleged gratification strengthened when a number of Umrah pilgrims together provided information and mentioned the figure of an entrepreneur who financed Umrah activities together.

"The information was strengthened by most congregants who confirmed that their departure was funded by a businessman with the initials D, while what we have conveyed in the report to the police," he said.
