JAKARTA - A box truck loaded with textile material crashed into a toll pole at the interchange, Cawang District, East Jakarta on Tuesday, October 24, morning.

The textile truck hit a pole for avoiding the vehicle in front of it that suddenly stopped. It was later discovered that the box truck with police number B 9319 AF was driven by Solihin.

As a result of the incident, Solihin was caught in the leg when the truck he was driving hit the pole. Apart from the driver being injured because he was caught in the steering wheel, the truck also suffered severe damage to the front.

East Jakarta Satlantas officer, Aiptu Waluyo, said the incident began when the truck driver left the Halim toll exit gate to Tanah Abang carrying textiles from Bandung.

"Suddenly the truck in front of him braked suddenly, so the truck driver was shocked and swerved to the right and hit a 10-meter high toll pole," he said, Tuesday, October 24.

Meanwhile, the truck that braked suddenly fled leaving the victim. The loaded vehicle was only able to be evacuated an hour later.

Victim Solihin was evacuated to the nearest hospital for treatment. Textile transport trucks were evacuated by the Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya.

"The truck was secured to the East Jakarta Traffic Unit," he said.

As a result of the truck accident, traffic jams had occurred in the Cawang area up to several kilometers long. However, congestion can be decomposed after the truck has finished being evacuated.
