JAKARTA - The Belu Resort Police (Polres) arrested three Timorese people. The three of them entered Indonesia via Belu in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) illegally.

"There are three Timor Leste residents who entered illegally into Indonesia through the Belu Regency area," said Belu Police Chief, AKBP Richo Nataldo Devallas Simanjuntak in a statement, Monday, October 23, which was confiscated by Antara.

"They admit that the copper comes from the remains of PLN Oecusse's cable. Two of the three illegal border crossers have entered Indonesia several times to sell this copper in the Roofupu Sea Star Warehouse at a price of around Rp. 80,000 per kilogram," he said.

Against the three Timor Leste residents, the police have handed it over to the TPI Atambua Immigration Class II for processing in accordance with Indonesian immigration laws.
