CIANJUR - Police arrested AS (24), a resident of Benjot Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency, West Java, for distributing hundreds of pills of various brands in refugee camps that were no longer used.
The Head of the Cugenang Police, AKP Tedi Setiadi, said that the arrest of the drug dealer started from the suspicion of residents about the activities inside the former refugee camp which had not been dismantled by the owner.
"Every day there are unusual activities, where residents find many teenagers and students going in and out of the tent, after being reported and conducting surveillance, it is found that illegal drug transactions were carried out by US suspects," he said in Cianjur, quoted from Antara, Friday, October 20.
Every day, the suspect sells illegal drugs targeting teenage and student buyers in the surrounding environment.
During the arrest, 538 pills of various brands were found. The US and evidence were immediately secured to the Cugenang Police.
In front of the officers, the perpetrator admitted that he had sold medicine in the former evacuation tent for the past two months targeting the buyer of the majority of teenagers and student age. The suspect was then handed over to the Cianjur Police Satreskrim to account for his actions.
"The case was transferred to the Cianjur Police, after the suspect underwent examination at the Cugenang Police and admitted his actions that had been going on for the past two months," said Tedi.
To avoid the same thing, he added Tedi, coordinating with related parties to curb evacuation tents that are no longer used because they are afraid that they will be used for illegal activities.
"The unused tents will be dismantled because the occupants have returned to the house. The parts of the tents that can still be used are stored for emergency conditions so they are not used for negative activities," he said.
