TNI Commander Reminds Neutral Soldiers During The 2024 Election

TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono reminded all TNI soldiers to be neutral in facing the 2024 General Election, the stages of which are ongoing.

The TNI Commander stated that the neutrality of the TNI is a fixed price that cannot be negotiated. According to him, if all TNI, Polri, and ASN soldiers uphold neutrality, the election can run well and smoothly.

"So I always emphasize that TNI soldiers wherever they are, must be neutral and TNI soldiers must benefit the community," said TNI Commander Yudo Margono during Sports activities with the TNI-Polri ranks and local governments in Korem 081/DSJ Madiun, East Java, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 20.

Yudo gave several directions to soldiers to support and oversee the implementation of the democratic party well.

Apart from being neutral or impartial to any candidate pair, he said, the TNI is not allowed to provide facilities or infrastructure as a campaign event.

Soldiers are asked not to give any responses related to nominations, either directly or through social media. Starting from presidential-vice presidential candidates or legislative candidates.

Mayor of Madiun Maidi who attended the joint sports activity emphasized to ASN to be neutral. Moreover, the political year is a vulnerable year so that ASN is asked not to be influenced by information that is not yet known from the source of the truth.

"The TNI, Polri, and ASN must be neutral. They will not participate because they already have their respective duties," said Maidi.
