JAKARTA - Candidate for president (candidate) Ganjar Pranowo had mentioned the moment of his vice presidential candidate, Mahfud MD failed to advance in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

This was conveyed by the former Governor of Central Java at the Declaration of Presidential Candidates and Vice Presidential Candidates Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, Wednesday, October 18. Ganjar believes Mahfud can be his deputy to continue the administration of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"God willing, if Mr. Mahfud was not the vice president, today is the time," said Ganjar, greeted by laughter from Mahfud during a speech at the National Archives Building of the Republic of Indonesia, Mangga Besar, Jakarta.

"We never played around with that," continued Ganjar, greeted by applause from the invitees who were present.

It is known that Mahfud was indeed going to be paired with President Jokowi who ran for the second time in the 2019 presidential election. However, in the last minute he was replaced by Ma'ruf Amin.

Returning to Ganjar, the white-haired figure also mentioned the role of young people. Initially, he mentioned the First President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno or Bung Karno who had mentioned that 10 young men could shake the world.

Therefore, he hopes that the same thing can be achieved, including for the welfare of the nation. "Give Ganjar and Mahfud all these young people, we will achieve that common goal," he said.

"Mr. Mahfud and I proposed to young people to get involved in this victory because that is our future," added Ganjar.

For information, this declaration is Ganjar's first moment at the same stage as Mahfud MD after the announcement of the vice presidential candidate on Wednesday afternoon.
