Online arisan Bandar Jadi Tempo (Japo) in Semarang, Central Java, Yudhian Prasetyamukti, asked the panel of judges at the Semarang City District Court to impose an innocent and free verdict on the defendant in the alleged fraud case.
The defendant, through his legal adviser, Wahyu Rudy Indarto, said in his defense that the facts of the trial showed that the defendant was not proven to have committed fraud.
"There was no intentional action by the defendant as admin in the social gathering," he said in a trial chaired by Chief Judge Setyo Yoga Siswantoro, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 17.
The public prosecutor charged the defendant Yudhian Prasetyamukti with a sentence of 3.5 years in prison.
He explained that since the beginning of the arisan, the defendant had never persuaded the victim to hand over the goods with the aim of transferring ownership.
In addition, he continued, all agreements in the social gathering were carried out verbally because the implementation was carried out online.
"All social gathering participants trust each other, there are no guarantees or conditions," he added.
He said that in the trial the prosecutor never revealed the beginning of the smooth implementation of the social gathering and the participants had benefited.
Therefore, he asked the judge to declare the defendant innocent and release the prosecutor's claim.
